Meet The Team

Ross Murray

Hi, I'm Ross, father to three young daughters and co-franchisee of North Devon Mini First Aid with my wife Sam. Like many, I was first introduced to first aid skills through the Scouts, and while studying for my A Levels I taught first aid classes on behalf of another company to students at numerous colleagues, as well as to Scouts and Guides. I come from a military background, and I have been taught to deliver first aid in various scenarios. I truly believe first aid skills should be known by all, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience to give others the confidence to step in and help those in need of first aid treatment.

Sam Murray

Hi, I’m Sam. I am a Mum to 3 young girls – Amelia (5), Imogen (4) and Natalie (6 months). I have worked within the Dental industry for the past 10 years as a Dental Nurse, a Practice Manager, and most recently providing Dental practices with their annual training programs. Training is something I am extremely passionate about, and I truly believe that knowledge is power. Since becoming a Mum to two very accident prone children (the third is too young to know yet!) it became very apparent to me that my training was the thing that enabled me to keep my cool and know exactly what to do. This is when I took the decision to get the message out there to as many child carers as possible and empower the next generation to deal with these situations. I joined Mini First Aid over 3 years ago and have loved every course I have delivered.

Hanna Cook

Hi I'm Hanna. First and foremost I am a mum of three boys, who keep me on my toes and practicing first aid in real life! As well as a Mini First Aid Trainer, I am also a current NCT Antenatal teacher, and Breastfeeding Counsellor. My passion is parent and adult education, in anything that helps people feel confident in looking after their children. First aid is such an important part of that because children are full of surprises, so I am ecstatic to be part of the team, delivering Mini First Aid courses.

Kristin Finn

Hi, I’m Kristin. My background is in teaching and safety education, having spent over 15 years as a university lecturer with a specialism and passion for live event and crowd safety. I am now an approved workplace safety training provider for the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, as well as a First Aid trainer and assessor. I am also a mum of two very lively and energetic boys, aged 10 and 5. Since having children, we’ve experienced numerous trips to A&E and the minor injuries units, with many more bumps, scrapes, and splinters to deal with along the way! I have always been passionate about delivering engaging and relatable training that helps to create those lightbulb moments for learners so that they know what to do in an emergency or worsening situation. I have joined the Mini First Aid team as I am passionate about empowering other parents, grandparents, carers and children to feel confident and calm under pressure, whilst gaining the valuable first aid skills that enable them to provide help and support when needed.

Simon Barker

Hi, I’m Simon, father of 2 boys, Sam (20) and Harry (14). My first introduction to First Aid was at school in Army Cadets. I am a scuba diving instructor and have to teach First Aid courses as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course. I have been doing this for 23 years. I really enjoy teaching and imparting knowledge and seeing people develop new skills. It is very rewarding to see someone grow in confidence and be ready to step in and help should the need arise.
